In the future the whole world is rules by vampires and the humans are blood cattle. Allison live in the fringe, the outermost circle of a vampire city. By day she and here friends try to find food and by night they hide from the vampires. All well and good until she gets attacked and almost die. A vampire finds her and offers her the choice to die or to turn her. She pick the later and then she have to accept the fact that someday somewhere she will kill people for blood or go mad.
All in all a nice book but it’s the first of a series so now i have to wait for the next part 
. Minor complains that i can add is that almost everyone she attack deserve it and there is a romantic scene that does not fit at all.
